Uses & Therapeutic Effects

Tucatinib 150 mg is a targeted oral anticancer medicine used as part of combination therapy for certain HER2-positive cancers.

  •  Used with trastuzumab and capecitabine for adults with advanced unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer, including cases involving brain metastases, after prior anti-HER2-based treatment.
  • Used with trastuzumab for adults with unresectable or metastatic HER2-positive, RAS wild-type colorectal cancer that has progressed after specific chemotherapy regimens.
  • Helps inhibit HER2 signaling, a pathway that can promote the growth and survival of HER2-positive cancer cells.
  • May help slow cancer progression and support disease control when used as part of an appropriate oncology treatment regimen.
  • Treatment should be selected and monitored by an experienced oncology professional based on the patient's cancer type, HER2 status, previous treatments, and overall health.
Ingredients & Composition

Active Ingredient: Tucatinib

Strength: 150 mg per tablet

Dosage Form: Film-coated tablet for oral administration

Composition: Each tablet contains Tucatinib INN 150 mg as the active pharmaceutical ingredient.

Pack Information: 30 tablets per pack, according to the product packaging shown.

Tucatinib is a HER2-directed tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI). The 150 mg tablet strength is designed to allow appropriate dosing flexibility under a physician's supervision.

Note: If you want to list inactive ingredients/excipients, use the exact formulation information from the manufacturer's approved product documentation rather than guessing the excipient list.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended adult dose:
The standard recommended tucatinib dose is 300 mg taken orally twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart. The 150 mg tablet strength means this corresponds to two 150 mg tablets per dose, when the prescribed regimen is 300 mg twice daily.

Administration:

  • Take tucatinib exactly as prescribed by the treating oncologist.
  • It may be taken with or without food.
  • Try to take each dose at approximately the same time every day.
  • Swallow the tablets whole; do not alter the tablets unless specifically instructed by a healthcare professional.
  • Tucatinib is generally used in combination with other anticancer medicines, depending on the cancer indication.

Missed Dose:
If a dose is missed or vomited, the patient should not take an extra dose to make up for it. The next scheduled dose should generally be taken at the usual time.

Important: Dose adjustments may be necessary because of adverse reactions, severe liver impairment, or certain drug interactions. Patients should not change the dose or discontinue treatment without guidance from their oncology team.
